I’m Chris Murphy, the founder of colorblindguy. I grew up outside of Albany, New York. I learned, during my kindergarten year, that I was colorblind by taking the Ishihara Color Vision tests (seen below).
Being colorblind might explain why I earned a “C” in Art in kindergarten. Sister Mary Damien did not cut me any slack in 1964 at Saint Ambrose School in Latham, New York.
Who gets a “C” in art in kindergarten?
Not only was I colorblind, but my 3 brothers were too. This was due to the fact that my Mom was colorblind. Only 1 female out of 200 are colorblind. View a simple scientific chart why people are born colorblind.
I always thought it would be a fun idea to create a web site for the colorblind like the one you are on right now. I purchased the domain, colorblindguy.com, in 2007. I have worked at Newton North High School for 32 years. Now that I’ve retired (as of 9/10/19), I plan on putting the site to use.

I embraced the name colorblindguy as I did some stand up comedy for about 4 years. The clip below is when I opened for Boston based comedian legend, Jimmy Tingle.
