How does one become colorblind or give birth to a colorblind child? As you see women will be a circle and men will be a square. Notice that men are not carriers. There are 5 senarios (not counting when both parents have no deficiency) that are explained below.

A woman without a deficiency and a colorblind man produce female carriers and males without a deficiency.
A woman who is a carrier and a male with no deficiency produce females who have a 50/50 chance of being a carrier and males who have a 50/50 chance of being colorblind.
A woman who is a carrier and a male who is colorblind have a 50/50 chance of producing a carrier female and a 50/50 chance of producing a colorblind female. They also have a 50/50 chance of producing a colorblind male or a male with no deficiency.
A woman who is colorblind who has children with a male with no deficiency has and all females are carriers and all males are colorblind.
If both parents are colorblind, all children will be colorblind! That’s a happy family!
